Assam Rifles Public School is a flagship welfare initiative of the Directorate General Assam Rifles, Shillong, functioning under the aegis of the Assam Rifles Welfare Education Society. Established as a not-for-profit institution, the school is dedicated to delivering holistic, inclusive, and learner-centred education.
Located in a region where Assam Rifles establishments often serve remote and underserved communities, the school has emerged as a centre of educational excellence, providing a nurturing environment that fosters intellectual growth, moral integrity, creativity, discipline, leadership, and a lifelong love for learning. Assam Rifles Public School, Keithelmanbi, is one of the premier educational institutions in Manipur dedicated to provide quality education and foster holistic development among students. The institution was established in 1987 at the historic Kangla Fort, Imphal, under the name Swami Vivekananda School to cater to the educational needs of the children of Assam Rifles personnel and the local population.
The school was upgraded up to the Secondary level under the Manipur State Board in 2000. In 2004, it was shifted to Keithelmanbi and obtained affiliation with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi (Affiliation No. 1280007). With the growing demand for higher education facilities, the Senior Secondary section was introduced in 2008, offering Science and Humanities streams.
Registered under the Assam Rifles Welfare Education Society (ARWES), Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles, Shillong, the school has consistently striven for academic excellence and all-round development. Over the years, it has built modern infrastructure, including well-equipped laboratories, a library, computer facilities and sports amenities, and has earned a reputation for producing excellent academic results and nurturing responsible citizens.
Today, Assam Rifles Public School, Keithelmanbi, stands as a beacon of quality education in the region, serving not only the wards of Assam Rifles personnel but also students from the surrounding communities.
